There are a number of opportunities for those within the Presbyterian Church aged 18-25 to serve in Ireland. Volunteers should be over 18 years old, however if you are over 21 years old you might also like to consider the Monaghan Plus Team or the YAC Intern Scheme.

 Volunteer Programme

As a volunteer you will work with a church in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland and get the chance to be involved in a broad range of activities e.g. church services and setting up youth fellowships. You will be provided with accommodation and a weekly personal allowance.

 Monaghan Plus Team

This is an exciting initiative working in the Monaghan Presbytery – helping to develop, encourage and support youth ministry in local congregations and beyond. Be one of a three-person team to live and serve for the year in this part of Ireland and: “Prepare the Soil, Plant the Seeds and Help with the Harvest.” You will be provided with accommodation and a weekly personal allowance.

 YAC Intern Scheme

There are opportunities to intern with the YAC Department for a year. Interns will be based in Church House and will carry out work in one or more of these areas:  Preparing Youth to be Peacemakers (PYP), SPUD, Website and Research & Education. You will get a weekly allowance.

Church Application

Congregations can benefit from having a volunteer for the year who could help with specific projects such as setting up a youth fellowship or an after school club. Volunteers arrive with the congregation as a trainee and not an employee, therefore an integral aspect of congregational support is provision of accommodation and a weekly allowance. Congregations who are interested in having a volunteer can download the appropriate application form below.
